My Adventures With Superman – Most Eligible Superman Review

Clark and Lois cover a story about Superman being the most eligible bachelor while Jimmy shows a visiting girl around Metropolis.

–SPOILERS BELOW–

This might be the funniest episode of the season so far. The scene where Cat Grant is talking about how Superman lives among them as Clark just waves at Lois from behind her had me in stitches. Great writing and great framing of the shot. The animation this episode was honestly a season high, and I know it’s only gonna get better from here.

Normally I’m not a fan of the whole ‘couple fights because of misunderstanding’ but I think what they do in here makes sense. Lois is someone who clearly has deep abandonment issues, and had Cat Grant in her head the whole time saying that Superman deserved a super-human. Plus you have to remember that this version of Clark and Lois are young and inexperienced. So, when it comes to stuff like this of course it’ll take time to work it out.

I also have to shout out Cat Grant’s line about reporters only looking into the story, and not becoming it was really fantastic and it honestly saved me from hating her this episode. Sure she was annoying but you could feel the weight behind those words, that she was trying to help Lois learn a lesson she had to learn the hard way.

Now to get to the big thing this episode, KARA ZOR-EL! She was amazing and fantastically voice acted by Kiana Madeira. I am fascinated by the direction they’re taking this version of her, and I’m glad they’re not shying away from her anger nor her compassion. I also really liked the chemistry she and Jimmy had, I hope they stick with it.

The fight between Kara and Superman was so good, my favorite detail was that Clark didn’t land a blow, he just kept blocking because he didn’t want to fight Kara but he still didn’t want her to hurt anyone. He’s just so Superman. Kara’s suit looks awesome, and the way she just flexes to get her armor off…whoever came up with that I salute you.

This has me so hyped for the next episode, which will probably have Clark confronting whoever Primus is (maybe an early version of Brainiac?) Next weekend can’t come soon enough!
